Mouthwatering Shishito Peppers

Last year I was fortunate enough to visit Barcelona, Spain twice. Each time the only tapas I wanted were SHISHITO PEPPERS. 

For weeks after both my trips I was puzzled at how they got the peppers so perfectly roasted and salted. Literally, it was all I could think about.

On a Sunday stroll through Costco (my second home) I came across bags of shishito peppers and after coworker told me how easy it was to prepare these bad boys, I was YALLA, let’s get to work baby.

Don’t let your tummy miss out on the deliciousness of these green delights. Take 20 minutes of your time and enjoy. 

Secret- Shishito peppers are so low in calories eating them is almost like negative calories (it’s an andriaism).


1 Bag of Shishito Peppers


Olive Oil


Turn your oven on to broil at the highest setting. Take a baking sheet and spray with nonstick spray.

In a large bowl add the Shishito Peppers, then drizzle generously with olive oil and then add, also generously, pinches of salt (5 big pinches).

Mix it all together and spread onto the baking sheet. 

Broil until peppers are almost black (charred looking/ see my picture below). When finished feel free to add more salt if necessary.
